Clockwise from top left:
Glen Cadam Single Malt Scotch Whisky, 21-year
Bright, almost crisp. Only sweet in the aftertaste. A little peaty but hardly any smoke and incredibly smooth for something with so little sweetness to it. But it’s a 21-year-old so I should hardly be surprised.
Glen Garioch Single Malt Scotch Whisky, 12-year
It took me almost the whole dram to figure out what I thought about this one. At first, I didn’t think there was anything notable about it but it’s more than that. It’s… what I think of when I imagine scotch. It is reminiscent of almost every scotch I’ve had in one way or another. Fascinating how it can be so many things without having a single thing I can point to.
Chivas Regal Blended Scotch Whisky, 18-year
I should really try the standard Chivas Regal, shouldn’t I? If this is any indication.
Smooth Ambler Old Scout Straight Bourbon Whiskey, 7-year
Brown sugar and molasses. A little nutty without falling over into praline. Quite nice.
