My bartender pulled this (and 99 and 101) out of his private collection to celebrate my 100th whiskey. I slit the paper on the cork myself. It came out in 2008 to celebrate the 75th anniversary of the repeal of Prohibition.
This is so, so nice. It’s more… savory? I don’t know if I’d go savory but it’s definitely not a sweeter bourbon. It’s like very little I’ve tried so far. Definitely a bourbon: corn, oak, more vanilla than caramel. It is just beautifully full and mellow.
It was a nice choice for the milestone.
And, bonus: The night before, I was gifted with this “Lovecraftian Pure R’Lyeh Whiskey (Bottled by the Great Old Ones; Est 1928)” shirt to celebrate the milestone. I wore it to have my hundredth.
