Well. That’s a surprise.

If you’d given this to me and obscured the origin, I never would’ve guessed it was Irish whiskey. It lacks the aftertaste that I associate strongly with Irish whiskies, from Jameson blended all the way to Bushmill’s 21-year single malt. It’s also one of the sweetest, I’d say most bourbon-like, of the whiskies I’ve tried, Irish or otherwise. 

I liked it.

And, to be honest, that baffles me a little. It may eventually help me narrow down what it is about (other) Irish whiskies that I dislike but for now it’s just confusing.
