Two of these I tried because
nanila mentioned them (or another whisky from the same distiller) at one point or another, the other two were (a) boubon for dessert and (b) a splash to try because the bartender had it out and offered. They haven't all coughed through the tumblr queue so only the Highland Park is linked but I'll try to remember to update them after they've all posted.
- Highland Park Single Malt Scotch Whisky, 12-year - Sweet, malty, honey, the tiniest bit smokey. Just on the edge of my preference range.
- Talisker Single Malt Scotch Whisky, 10-year - This was the first scotch that remidned me of pain thinner (some day I will figure out what element it is that elicits that response) without needing something to mitigate it.
- Temptation Straight Bourbon Whiskey - Oh. My. God. This is carmel corn wrapped in cotton candy and finished with a boozy kick. With a whopping seventy-five percent corn in the mash it's no wonder but I didn't know that going in so it was a nice surprise. And a nice dessert. (That would be someone else's Maker's in the background.)
- Hibiki Japanese Blended Whiksy, 12-year - So it seems I like Japanese whisky. At least so far.
