One-line whiskey is born

Up until pretty recently, all whiskeys tasted like paint thinner to me. Within the last year or so, that’s changed. Old-fashioneds were my gateway and I’ve moved to trying to just, you know, drink it.

You’re unlikely, at least at first, to read descriptions using whiskey-wise words. I am not whiskey wise. Just trying to figure out what I like and what I don’t. To take some of the pressure off, I’m only requiring a single line, one sentence, maybe two. It might be more as I learn more and I’m better able to discern notes but for now just communicating what my raw, uneducated palate thinks about each one as concisely as possible.

I’m also not going to be that guy. You know that guy. The one taking flash pictures in a dimly-lit bar? That one. Especially since my watering hole of choice is, indeed, a dimly-lit, tiny bar. So there may be some shots better than others but I’ll at least try to keep them interesting.

You’re free to suggest something for me to try. I’ll do what I can to find it.
